The Princess Royal, Princess Anne, presided over HM The King’s Birthday Party 2026 in Bangkok.

On 16 July 2026, the British Embassy in Bangkok hosted the Official Birthday Party of His Majesty King Charles III at the Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok at Chao Phraya River. The event was honoured by the presence of Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, Princess Anne, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, during their official visit to Thailand from 16–17 July 2026. The celebration brought together more than 1,000 distinguished guests, including senior representatives from the Royal Thai Government, executives from public and private sector organisations, members of the diplomatic corps, and other prominent figures.

On this occasion, Professor Dr. Yodchanan Wongsawat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, extended his congratulations and reaffirmed the longstanding friendship between the two Royal Families and the enduring partnership between Thailand and the United Kingdom. 

Dr. Wiparat De-ong, Executive Director of the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), also conveyed her congratulations. She was further honoured with the opportunity to engage in a conversation with Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence.

Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, Princess Anne, accompanied by her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, is undertaking an official visit to Thailand. The visit marks the first official visit to the country by a member of the British Royal Family in more than 30 years, following the previous royal visit in 1996 to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of the Reign of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great.
