NRCT Congratulates the Royal Thai Embassy in London on the Presentation of “The Art of Thai Miniatures” at London Craft Week 2026

On 15 May 2026, the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), extended its congratulations to the Royal Thai Embassy in London on the successful presentation of “The Art of Thai Miniatures” at London Craft Week 2026, held at the Royal Thai Embassy in London.

On this occasion, H.E. Mr. Nattawut Krishnamra, Ambassador of Thailand to London, and his spouse warmly welcomed the NRCT delegation led by Dr. Wiparat De-Ong, Executive Director of NRCT, together with Ms. Sirinporn Deawtrakool, Deputy Executive Director of NRCT, and accompanying officials.

During the visit, the Ambassador shared valuable insights into the historical significance and cultural identity reflected in “The Art of Thai Miniatures” exhibition, which was showcased as part of the internationally renowned London Craft Week 2026, held from 11–17 May 2026. The exhibition attracted considerable interest from visitors who admired the exquisite craftsmanship of Thai traditional arts through miniature Thai houses and finely crafted miniature handicrafts from various collections. The displays highlighted the richness of Thailand’s cultural heritage, artistic traditions, and master craftsmanship.

A special workshop on the creation of miniature Thai cuisine was also organized by Ajarn Ploydao Theeravech, a renowned expert in Thai miniature food art. In addition, several master artisans participated in demonstrating and presenting their exceptional works, providing visitors with a unique opportunity to experience Thailand’s artistic heritage firsthand.

The exhibition received significant attention from both international visitors and foreign media, reflecting strong appreciation for the beauty, creativity, and cultural value of Thai craftsmanship. The event served as an important platform for promoting Thailand’s cultural identity and soft power to a global audience while strengthening international awareness and appreciation of Thai arts and traditions.
