“Danuphorn” Praises Ready-to-Use Research and Innovations from the Isan Research Network, Highlighting Research that Elevates Community Potential at the 14th Regional Research Expo at NRRU

On August 20, 2026, Mr. Danuphorn Punnakanta, Assistant Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), visited the exhibition showcasing ready-to-use research and innovation by the Northeastern (Isan) research network, praising the research for elevating community potential. He was accompanied by Dr. Wiparat De-ong, Executive Director of the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT); Mr. Wijit Kitwirat, Deputy Governor of Nakhon Ratchasima Province; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Adisorn Naowanont, President of Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University; and executives from higher education institutions and Northeastern research agencies. Together, they toured the research and innovation exhibition held at the “14th Regional Research Expo” at Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University, Nakhon Ratchasima Province.
During the visit, Mr. Danuphorn viewed and listened to presentations on research and innovations from researchers, universities, and various agencies that have applied research knowledge to develop products and innovations that address local needs. Examples included a scalp scrub made from Pan Dung rock salt, herbal shampoo, processed fish and shrimp products, hand-woven naturally dyed silk, cattle feed, products supporting the occupational pursuits of people with disabilities, as well as dairy products and items from community research centers. Researchers and product developers were present to provide detailed information.
The exhibition featured a variety of interesting research and innovation works, such as the promotion of creative tourism in the ancient community of Ban Salaeng Hon in Buri Ram Province; fish farming and the production of fish feed from local materials; the development of alternative protein products from mushrooms and beans; the creation of wickerwork and handicrafts from natural materials; the development of marketing and community income distribution systems; the enhancement of community potential through products made from local materials; and the application of technology to promote cultural tourism. It also highlighted the Paiboon Tourism Community Research Center in Ban Siao Noi, Chaiyaphum Province, and a community research center focusing on poultry farming and dairy products for local economic development.
The exhibitions at the 14th Regional Research Expo aim to disseminate practical research and innovations while linking the knowledge of researchers, universities, and communities. This initiative is designed to drive the extension of research into product development, create added value, and elevate the quality of life for local residents. The exhibition is being held from August 20 to 22, 2026, at Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University.
