Congratulations to Chulalongkorn University's Inventor Team on Winning the Best Foreign Innovation Award at INTARG 2026 in Katowice, Poland
The National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), extends its heartfelt congratulations and appreciation to Thai inventors and researchers for bringing international recognition to Thailand through their outstanding achievements at the 19th International Invention and Innovation Show (INTARG 2026), held on 2–3 June 2026 at the International Congress Centre (MCK Katowice), Katowice, Republic of Poland.
This year, a team of inventors from Chulalongkorn University received the prestigious Best Foreign Innovation Award for their invention entitled “Innovative Extraction of Highly Purified Albumin from Discarded Lipemic Plasma for Advanced Canine Therapy.” The project was led by Associate Professor Dr. Sayamon Srisuwatanasakul, and her research team. The innovation transforms discarded lipemic plasma into highly purified and safe Canine Plasma Albumin, offering a valuable solution for veterinary therapeutic applications.
In addition, Thai inventors and researchers received two Platinum Awards, among the highest honors presented at INTARG 2026:
- “Glaucoma Screening Program for Blindness Prevention” by Associate Professor Dr. Sakchai Wongkittiruk, M.D. and colleagues from Thammasat University.
- “CarbonCap: An AI-Driven Automated Carbon Stock Measurement and Trading Platform” by Associate Professor Dr. Anak Khantachawana and colleagues from King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi.
Thai participants also received several prestigious Special Prizes on Stage from international organizations:
- “EdgeAI Terminal Unit: Edge Computing-Based AI Forecasting System for Solar Power Generation” by Mr. Kittiphop Pathanawanich and colleagues from the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) received the Award of Haller Pro Invention Foundation from Poland.
- “Natural Color Extracts from Medicinal Plants for Enhancing Thai Culinary Creativity and Local Gastronomy Tourism” by Dr. Wannaporn Thepbundit of Srinakharinwirot University, in collaboration with Associate Professor Dr. Dusit Athinuwat of Thammasat University, received the INNOPA Special Award from the Indonesian Invention and Innovation Promotion Association (INNOPA).
- “Amla (Indian Gooseberry) Extract Innovation for Reducing Fatty Liver Disease” by Dr. Waraporn Sorndej and colleagues from the Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR) received the MARS Award from the Malaysian Association of Research Scientists (MARS).
- “Development of Folate Immobilization Technology in Immature Rice to Preserve the Nutritional Value of Thai Rice” by Dr. Siriwan Nawong and colleagues from the Synchrotron Light Research Institute (Public Organization) received the WIIPA Special Award from the World Invention Intellectual Property Associations (WIIPA), Taiwan.
Furthermore, Eurobusiness Poland presented three special awards to Thai innovations:
The High TRL Level Award was granted to “Cosmetic Product Innovation from Phalaenopsis Orchid Pollen Extract Obtained through a Two-Step Biological Fermentation Process” developed by the Beauty and Wellness Sciences Research Institute Co., Ltd.
The Eurobusiness Poland Special Award was presented to “MoveMate: A Wearable Device for Promoting Physical Activity and Reducing Office Syndrome” by Ms. Clairerita Baiphowong and colleagues from Newton Learning Center School.
Another Eurobusiness Poland Special Award was presented to “Tilesse: High-Performance Nano Titanium Dioxide Coating Innovation for Ceramic Wall Tiles to Enhance Brightness and Reduce Bacterial Accumulation” by Ms. Mananyaporn Pimnoi and colleagues from Princess Chulabhorn Science High School Pathum Thani.
The remarkable achievements of Thai inventors at INTARG 2026 reflect the nation’s strong potential, creativity, and dedication to developing high-quality innovations with tangible benefits for society and industry.
