NRCT Leads Thai Delegation of Inventors to the “Japan Design, Idea and Invention Expo” (JDIE 2026) in Osaka, Japan

The National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), brought over 90 inventions, research projects, and innovations from more than 40 organizations to compete and be exhibited at the “Japan Design, Idea and Invention Expo” (JDIE 2026). The event took place from July 3 - 4, 2026, in Osaka, Japan.

JDIE 2026 is an international invention competition and exhibition organized by the World Invention Intellectual Property Associations (WIIPA) in collaboration with Chizai Corporation of Japan. This year, JDIE 2026 featured more than 300 inventions and innovations submitted for competition and exhibition from over 20 countries.

Dr. Wiparat De-ong, Executive Director of the National Research Council of Thailand, stated that bringing Thai inventors and researchers to compete and exhibit on this international stage provides them with an opportunity to build international networks. This will be highly beneficial for the ongoing development of their inventions and for creating opportunities to enhance the capabilities of Thai innovators.

For the 2026 event, the NRCT led Thai inventors and researchers to present their works at JDIE 2026 across various categories, which include:

  • Automotive & Transportation

  • Apparel, Fabric and Garment

  • Biotechnology, Health & Fitness

  • Chemicals

  • Electricity / Electronics

  • Environmental & Renewable Energy

  • Household Items

  • Educational Items, I.C.T. and Multimedia

  • Sports & Games

  • Printing and Packaging Design

  • Personal-care Products

  • Industrial Design

  • Machines and Equipment
