The National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), in Collaboration with the Science and Technology in Society forum (STS forum), Hosts an Academic Presentation on “Sustainable Energy Transition” at the “STS forum Japan-Thailand Symposium 2026,” Advancing the Strategy for a Sustainable Energy Transition

On April 25, 2026, the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, in collaboration with the Science and Technology in Society forum (STS forum), organized an academic presentation on the topic “Sustainable Energy Transition” as part of the STS forum Japan-Thailand Symposium 2026. The session was held at World Ballroom A, 23rd Floor, Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWorld, Bangkok, with the objective of fostering strategic collaboration in science and technology through international cooperation.

Dr. Wiparat De-Ong, Executive Director of the National Research Council of Thailand, assigned Ms. Saowanee Mungsujaritkarn, Deputy Executive Director of the NRCT, to preside over the ceremony, deliver the welcome remarks, and present Certificates of Appreciation to distinguished keynote speakers, expert panelists, and research presenters.

Ms. Saowanee Mungsujaritkarn, Deputy Executive Director of the National Research Council of Thailand, emphasized the importance of international collaboration in addressing the global energy challenges currently facing the world. She highlighted the critical role of science, technology, and innovation—particularly Artificial Intelligence—in shaping development directions and driving effective and sustainable solutions. She added that this meeting serves as an important platform for the exchange of knowledge and academic advancements, supporting further research development and the practical application of research outputs in a tangible and impactful manner.

The session featured a special lecture by Dr. Sumittra Charojrochkul, Director of the National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC). This was followed by 12 oral presentations under the theme “Sustainable Energy Transition,” moderated by Professor Dr. Paisan Kittisupakorn of Chulalongkorn University. In addition, key points from the session were summarized by Professor Dr. Pantana Tor-ngern of Chulalongkorn University, an STS forum Young Leader 2022 selected by the National Research Council of Thailand.

This presentation serves as an important mechanism for driving national energy transition policies through the integration of international collaboration networks. It supports the development of knowledge, technologies, and innovations that enhance energy efficiency while reducing environmental impacts in a sustainable manner. It also contributes to strengthening national competitiveness on the global stage and advancing the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
