On August 20, 2026, Mr. Danuphorn Punnakanta, Assistant Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), presided over the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony to drive the “Healthy Aging Wellness” initiative through research, technology, and innovation. The ceremony took place at the “14th Regional Research Expo,” held under the concept of “Research Synergy: The Power of Research and Isan Wisdom, Connecting Thailand’s Future with Research and Innovation.” Dr. Wiparat De-ong, Executive Director of the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), along with representatives from four local health network partner agencies, attended the event. The signing took place at the Rajabhat Rangsarit Auditorium, Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University, Nakhon Ratchasima Province.
The goal of this MOU is to integrate cooperation between the NRCT and the four network partner agencies. The collaboration aims to apply knowledge from research, technology, and innovation to promote well-being and prevent diseases, as well as to develop elderly healthcare guidelines suited to the local context. Additionally, it seeks to strengthen and develop the capacity of public health personnel, enabling them to effectively utilize this knowledge and innovation in caring for the elderly.
This collaboration aims to support Nakhon Ratchasima Province's readiness in adapting to an aging society. It also pushes for the concrete utilization of research and innovation, bridging academic knowledge with practical local application, and creating a high-quality, appropriate, and sustainable elderly healthcare system under the “Healthy Aging Wellness” concept.
