On August 20, 2026, Mr. Danuphorn Punnakanta, Assistant Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), presided over the handover ceremony of bone mass measurement innovations to 20 Sub-district Health Promoting Hospitals in Nakhon Ratchasima Province. The ceremony took place at the “14th Regional Research Expo,” held under the concept of “Research Synergy: The Power of Research and Isan Wisdom, Connecting Thailand’s Future with Research and Innovation,” as part of the “Healthy Aging Wellness” project driven by research, technology, and innovation. Dr. Wiparat De-ong, Executive Director of the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), along with health network partner agencies, attended the ceremony at the Rajabhat Rangsarit Auditorium, Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University, Nakhon Ratchasima Province.
This innovation is part of the operational plan to establish the "Healthy Aging Wellness Center" through research and innovation. It aims to create a system for utilizing research and innovation—supported by the NRCT and developed by King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT)—to care for the elderly within the healthcare service system. It also increases opportunities for local access to bone health screening, enabling medical personnel to assess bone health conditions and use the data to properly manage and provide healthcare for the public.
The provision of bone mass measurement innovations to hospitals in Nakhon Ratchasima Province reflects a commitment to driving research and innovation toward practical utilization. This initiative aims to promote and prevent public health issues, support an aging society, and sustainably elevate the quality of life and well-being of the elderly.
