Outstanding Achievement! Young Thai Inventors from Montfort College Win the Asian Young Inventors Best Invention Award 2026 at WYIE during ITEX 2026 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
The National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), extends its sincere congratulations to Thailand’s young inventors for bringing pride to the nation through their outstanding achievements at the World Young Inventors Exhibition (WYIE), held under “The 37th International Invention, Innovation & Technology Exhibition (ITEX 2026)” from 18–20 May 2026 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The recipient of the prestigious Asian Young Inventors Best Invention Award 2026 – Secondary was the invention entitled “Paws-iGlucose Test: A Smart Non-Invasive Glucose Monitoring Kit for Pets” developed by students from Montfort College.

The innovation is a non-invasive glucose monitoring system designed for pets, serving as an effective and safe tool for diabetes surveillance in dogs and cats. The device enables accurate glucose-level measurement and allows users to conveniently access results through a smartphone application. This innovation has the potential to improve pet healthcare by providing a user-friendly and stress-free alternative to conventional glucose testing methods.

In addition, two Thai inventions received Special Prizes from international organizations:

• The World Invention Intellectual Property Association (WIIPA), Chinese Taipei, presented a special award to the invention entitled “Smart Balance Training Board for Rehabilitation and Prevention of Ankle Sprains in Athletes” developed by students from Montfort College.

• The Macao Innovation and Invention Association (MIIA), Macao SAR, presented a special award to the invention entitled “Eco-Friendly Surgical Sutures” developed by students from Princess Chulabhorn Science High School Trang.

These achievements reflect the creativity, capability, and dedication of Thailand’s young inventors in developing innovative solutions with practical applications and societal benefits. NRCT remains committed to fostering innovation among youth by providing opportunities for learning, creativity, and skills development, while encouraging the next generation of inventors to grow into highly capable innovators who will contribute to Thailand’s future development and competitiveness on the global stage.
